Posted: September 3rd, 2009 | Author: admin | Filed under: Blog | Tags: pharma | No Comments »Sept. 3 Bloomberg — Dainippon Sumitomo Pharma Co. agreed to buy Sepracor Inc. for $2.6 billion to gain a U.S. sales force and experimental treatments in the world’s biggest drug market.Dainippon will pay $23 a share, 28 percent more than Sepracor’s $18.03 closing price on Sept. 1, the companies said today. Marlborough, Massachusetts-based Sepracor will become a wholly owned unit of Dainippon after the all-cash transaction is completed, they said.
